Rocky Mountain Trail Loaded Potato Soup

Posted by Lynette Browning on Jan 1st 2026

This was some of the best potato soup. I made it according to directions except added an additional potato. I liked it so much I gave it as Christmas gifts. They all loved it. I found mine at a Hallmark store.

    Very average

Posted by Debbie on Dec 23rd 2025

Nothing to rave about. Very average soup. Way too much pepper. Didn’t finish it because the pepper overpowers the soup. ***ANDERSON HOUSE REPLY*** Hi Debbie, thanks for letting us know your feelings on the pepper, and we're so sorry you were disappointed. That is not a complaint we've heard on this soup before. Curious what type of broth you used? Was it low-sodium or organic? Salt does help even out and boost the flavor of this soup in particular!

    Picky Eaters Loved the Soup!

My picky eating kids loved this! I added finely chopped leftover smoked turkey instead of the bacon and added the optional shredded cheese. Now I want to try your other flavors.

    Loaded potato soup

Posted by Karen Avolio on Oct 10th 2025

This was delicious!!! I added I can of evaporated milk since I didn’t have heavy cream and it was so good. It’s just me and my husband so I was wondering if I can freeze it or will the potatoes become gritty? ***ANDERSON HOUSE REPLY*** Hi Karen! We haven’t tried making our soups with evaporated milk, but a quick search shows it can sometimes change texture a bit after freezing — it may turn slightly grainy. When made with heavy cream, our soups do freeze well, though the color can take on a greyish tint once thawed. It’s purely visual — perfectly safe to enjoy! Hope that helps, and we’re so glad you loved the soup!

    YUM!

Posted by Catherine on Jul 18th 2025

This was the most delicious baked potato soup I have ever had! I would NEVER have guessed a soup made at home could taste like 'restaurant quality soup' AND it is made with way better ingredients! I used bone broth to up the protein. I did not have cream so I used whole milk and it was perfect! Can't wait to try the buffalo chicken soup next! I purchased mine from Cider Hill Farm in Amesbury, MA.

    Absolutely loved it

I used half heavy cream and half regular milk and it was still so creamy and delicious.
